bug fixes (more details in the release notes below).

* do not try to free the empty x264/vpx buffers after a decompression 
failure
* fix Xvfb deadlock on shutdown
* fix wrongly removing unix domain socket on startup failure
* fix wrongly killing Xvfb on startup failure
* fix race in network code and meta data packets
* ensure clients use raw_packets if the server supports it (fixes 
'gibberish' compressed packet errors)
* fix screen resolution reported by the server
