These releases were made primarily to ensure that every supported distribution had new builds available, signed with the new GPG key. For more details, please see: https://github.com/Xpra-org/xpra-html5/releases/tag/v5.3 https://github.com/Xpra-org/xpra-html5/releases/tag/v8.1 Cheers, Antoine From pierre.fortier at gmail.com Tue Jul 18 19:54:47 2023 From: pierre.fortier at gmail.com (Pierre Fortier) Date: Tue, 18 Jul 2023 14:54:47 -0400 Subject: [winswitch] where is the minimized window in the html5 client Message-ID: I successfully followed the instructions today to install and run xpra on ubuntu 22.04. I started xpra using: xpra start :3 --bind-tcp=0.0.0.0:5903,auth=password:value=mypasswd --html=on --start=xterm I connected from chrome using: http://localhost:5903/connect.html I see my xterm and a toolbar. The problem is when I minimize a window, it disappears. The toolbar menu does not have a list of programs for me to restore it. The toolbar start submenu is blank or invisible but the server and information submenus are visible. The only way to restore it is to disconnect and reconnect. Otherwise I can restore with the terminal command: wmctrl -a "window title". Is there a better way to restore a minimized window? What I should say is that the program appears to work correctly. I just have to click on the toolbar icon with the hover title "Open Windows" and then I see the list of windows. The problem was entirely my fault. I'm thankful for the great software, Pierre On Wed, Jul 19, 2023 at 11:21?AM Pierre Fortier wrote: > Sorry for the newbie question. Unfortunately, it seems that very few actually want to contribute to the project and this means that the project's funding has not been sustainable for a while. I was hoping that at least some of the more serious enquiries would eventually lead somewhere, but it seems they all assumed that someone else would. Unless things improve in the next few months, I intend to: * archive the mailing list and switch over to github discussions, * move all the package downloads to a third party hosting service (TBD), * redirect xpra.org to github, * finally release version 5.0 and a few minor updates after that, * give commit, release and key privileges to more contributors, * decommission the hardware currently hosting a lot of these services, * step down as maintainer Despite my best efforts to welcome contributions to the project and make the codebase more approachable, it seems unlikely that anyone will be able to take over in the short term. It is slightly frightening to think that users will be left with the already sub-par downstream packaging for a project of this importance and size. I do feel guilty for this messy state of affairs, so I will gladly listen to any suggestions on how best to protect the future of this project before I move on. No matter what happens in the next few weeks / months, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all past and present sponsors, and all those who have helped the project until now through contributions of any kind. https://github.com/Xpra-org/xpra/blob/master/docs/SPONSORS.md https://github.com/sponsors/totaam Cheers, Antoine
