The most important changes started with the modularization work and ended with the removal of Gtk from the X11 seamless server. This was not just about removing a thick and mostly unused dependency layer, this change allows us to run the seamless X11 server on MacOS and MS Windows platforms. Now granted, there aren't many native X11 applications you can run on these platforms, but there is nothing preventing you from running the X11 applications in a container or VM. This release is currently the only non-beta build that contains the updated libpng library which fixes some serious CVEs: https://github.com/Xpra-org/xpra/issues/4722 Security conscious users should update as soon as possible, because one of these CVEs looks fairly easy to exploit. A new LTS release will follow shortly to address this vulnerability. There is now also a work-in-progress wayland seamless server, which should reach the point where it is actually usable for anything more fancy than a terminal in the near future. For the full list of changes, see the v6.4 release notes: https://github.com/Xpra-org/xpra/releases/tag/v6.4 Cheers, Antoine From totaam at xpra.org Sun Dec 7 13:01:03 2025 From: totaam at xpra.org (Antoine Martin) Date: Sun, 7 Dec 2025 20:01:03 +0700 Subject: [winswitch] [ANNOUNCE] xpra-html5 v19 Message-ID: Hi, This new version of the HTML5 client is primarily focused on improving compatibility with the newly released xpra v6.4 There are no major fixes or security issues, so no urgency to update. You can find the very short list of changes in the release notes: https://github.com/Xpra-org/xpra/releases/tag/v5.1.4 Cheers, Antoine
