I didn't have ssh keys generated for my user. I had ssh server set up, and I
could log in to my computer using my user's account info, but my user didn't
have an associated ssh key. I guess some sort of ssh key detection would be
good for shifter. In Seahorse, the default key manager, my keys are easily
identifiable. It says "Chris' SSH Key" because I entitled it that way after
I created it. But in Shifter, I have to select the public and private key
files themselves individually. If I could just select the key title and have
it use the appropriate key files for me, it would be great. Also, I didn't
have a key, so it would have been good if shifter walked me through creating
a new ssh key for my user, or instructed me to launch Seahorse. When I used
"Create New SSH Key" option in the configuration dialogue, it created keys
for me, but it would still not connect. I am guessing because the keys were
by default created in the shifter config directory. Nonetheless, I had to
delete these keys and use Seahorse instead on both computers to create the
ssh keys. After that, it was fine.

In all, maybe just some obvious guidance on SSH keys would help.

Which one(s) are you missing the most?

Thanks for putting it on the FAQ. I was missing KDE applications (Eg.
Amarok).
