Can you please try with this change:
https://www.xpra.org/trac/changeset/1984

And let me know if that works for you, I can then apply this change to 
the stable branch.

Note: it will fallback to using Xvfb instead of Xdummy, which is far 
from optimal, but I cannot see any way around that.
